AUGUST 6, 2018 — Emily Beinecke, a three-sport standout at Concord-Carlisle, helped the Boston Renegades win the WFA national championship five years after playing for Tufts’ national championship softball team.
The Boston Renegades’ season ended two weeks ago, but players still took the field for drills last Thursday. They went through warm-ups before working on tackling, throwing and agility with their charges — 20 girls between 5 and 14 years old.
A few weeks after getting their rings for their third Super Bowl win, the players of the Boston Militia were told their owner was ceasing operations. But a determined group of players and alumni would not let a season go by without a women’s football team.
