REVERE – For the second time in as many games, the Boston Renegades soundly defeated their archrivals the D.C. Divas. Quarterback Allison Cahill #7 tossed seven touchdown passes — three in the first quarter alone — to lead Boston to victory. The Renegades advance to the Women’s Football Alliance Pro Division National Championship on July 13.

Wide receiver Emily Beinecke #87 made an impressive return to the field after being sidelined several weeks due to injury. She lead all Boston receivers with seven receptions and seventy-nine yards with three touchdowns. Receiver Stephanie Pascual #3 pulled down two touchdowns on three receptions. Cahill connected with nine different receivers throughout the game. Her seven touchdown passes ties team and personal records for touchdown passes in a game set earlier this season against the New York Wolves.

With Angelica Pascual #1 unable to play after injuries she sustained in the previous game, running back Ruth Matta #22 received her heaviest workload of the season so far, carrying the ball 19 times. She finished with 174 yards and two touchdowns.

Divas quarterback Amanda Congialdi passed for 280 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. She completed 18 of 38 attempts. She also carried D.C.’s only rushing touchdown. With primary passing target Kentrina Wilson unable to play, wide receiver Kasee Hilliard stepped up for the Divas with 6 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns, including an 81-yard scoring play. D.C. running back D’Ajah Scott contributed six catches out of the backfield for 61 yards, while Shaquanda Gainey and Lexie Floor chipped in with three receptions each.

Renegades defenders had a night to remember, collecting six sacks, seven tackles for loss, eight passes defended, two interceptions, a fumble, and a safety. They held D.C. to only 32 rushing yards and did not allow the Divas to convert a single third down the entire game (0-8).

Defensive end Donny Fournier #70 led the charge with 6 combined tackles and three sacks. Defensive back Tee Creech #5 continued her stellar play with 8 combined tackles which included a safety. Briannah Gallo #24 and Vanessa Goh #26 each plucked interceptions and rookie standout Andrea Fullmore #14 recovered a fumble forced by Sami Bloom #44.

Boston’s special teams play remained strong with Sarah Tully #11 kicking a field goal and converting 7 of 8 extra points. Vanessa Goh #26 kicked two touchbacks and amassed nearly 500 kickoff yards, constantly giving D.C. long starting field position.

Saturday’s 66-20 result was the largest margin of defeat ever suffered by the Divas against any team in its history. The previous mark was set in D.C.’s very first game on April 28, 2001 when the Philadelphia Liberty Belles posted a 40-0 shutout against the Divas.
