Nighthawks Grounded by Renegades Defense 68-0

REVERE MA – May 19, 2019 – Although Boston’s offense continued to shine rolling up seven touchdowns, it was their defense that stole the show in this matchup against the Baltimore Nighthawks. The Renegades collected a whopping eight turnovers and scored three defensive touchdowns. Final score: 68-0

Recovering fumbles were Brooke Gause #6, Christina Riggieri #89, and Charlene Casey #36. Danielle Fournier #70 was credited with a strip sack. Safety Shantia “Tee” Creech #5 grabbed three interceptions in the first quarter alone, and she made touchdown returns of 49 and 57 yards on two of the picks. The league leader in interceptions added another in the second half to lift her season total to eight. Another newcomer to the Renegades this season, linebacker Tori Noda #9, also returned an interception for a touchdown.

On the offensive side, quarterback Allison Cahill #7 threw four touchdown passes to four different receivers (Stephanie Pascual #3, Satoria Bell #4, Adrienne Smith #10, and Katie Rancourt #47). Running back Angelica Pascual #1 crossed the stripe twice, and running back Ruth Matta #22 had a 28-yard romp into the end zone.

Boston moves to 5-0 and sits atop the division. They next face the Philadelphia Phantomz (3-3) at Harry Della Russo Stadium on June 1st.
