Vanessa Baer of Boston, Mass., joined the Boston Renegades women’s pro football team in 2021 as a rookie linebacker. That year Vanessa emerged as the league’s most reliable kicker. She lead the entire league in extra point kicks (26) and finished the season without a missed attempt. Baer is the first player in WFA history to achieve both of those feats in a single season. She was named to the All American First Team.

After a season off, Vanessa returned to the Renegades in 2023 as a tight end and kicker.

Prior to joining the Renegades, Vanessa was captain of the Chelmsford (Mass.) High School girls soccer team and also ran track. She pursued racquetball while studying at UMass Lowell and was an offensive MVP in the Merrimack Valley Flag Football League.
