Kathryn “Ty” Tylander began her football coaching career in 2022 with the Renegades as an assistant coach, bringing experience to the wide receiver and tight end corps. She was also one of six selected by the Women’s Football Alliance to participate in the NFL Alumni Academy as a coaching intern in 2022.

Ty has over a decade of experience as a women’s football player. She was a three-time national champion with the Boston Militia before winning her fourth, fifth, and six titles as a Renegade. Additionally Ty joined the Boston Women’s Football “100 Club” with a win over the Baltimore Nighthawks on May 22, 2021.

Prior to football, Tylander was goalkeeper for Harvard University’s women’s lacrosse team (NCAA Div I). Tylander was a varsity letter winner and team captain, and ranks in the program’s top ten in saves per season and saves (career). Hailing from Alexandria, Va., she also played lacrosse at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School where she was a league champion and remains the program’s all-time saves leader. Tylander also represented the United States as a member of the 2003 U19 World Cup Women’s Lacrosse Team. Off the field she is a Quality Manager at Cambridge Health Alliance and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014.
