Cliff Ashley Headshot

Coach Ashley has been coaching kickers since 2002, and coaching in women’s football since 2006. He joined the Renegades as kicking coach for their inaugural 2015 season before being promoted to Special Teams Coordinator in 2016. In the fall, he coaches prep-school football at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn., where he has been since 2017. He is currently Choate’s Special Teams Coordinator as well.

Cliff became a member of Boston Women’s Football’s famed 100 Club on July 10, 2022. He earned his 100th victory when the Renegades defeated the Minnesota Vixen 32-12 in the national championship game.

Prior to the Renegades, he was with the New England Intensity for eight seasons, including several with current Renegade Head Coach John Johnson, accompanying the Intensity through seven trips to the playoffs, and a national championship appearance in 2012. Cliff has also worked in minor-league baseball for the Marlins, in minor-league hockey for the Bruins, and for the U.S. Women’s Rugby team.

A collegiate soccer and lacrosse player, Cliff earned his undergraduate degree in sports medicine/athletic training, and has been working with athletes ever since.
